You’re in Safe Hands
As we age the skin above the eyes can begin to droop, making the face look tired and creating a hooded eye effect. It is not uncommon these days for both men and women to opt to undertake eyebrow lift surgery, which can reverse this effect, as well as other signs of ageing, giving the face a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.
Eyebrow lift surgery is exactly what it sounds like – it involves literally lifting the brow, as well as tightening muscles that can cause wrinkles in the area.
There are a couple of options when it comes to brow lift surgery and your surgeon will advise you on which is most suited to you.
Brow Lift Procedures
Both brow lift procedures are relatively simple operations performed under general anaesthetic.
When booking a consultation with specialist plastic surgeon Sohail Akhtar you can rest assured that he is highly experienced in this form of procedure, having performed cosmetic treatments since 2001.
Eyebrow lift surgery types:
- Open brow lift surgery
This particular brow lift procedure involves the surgeon making an incision from one ear to the other, along the hairline.
The skin will then be gently lifted and the muscles tightened before any excess skin will be removed and the the skin stitched or clipped back into place to heal
- Endoscopic brow lift surgery
If this form of eyebrow lift surgery is most suitable to you the surgeon will make a number of small incisions along the hairline and then insert a small tube, with a camera on the end. This camera will project a picture to a screen in the operating theatre so that the surgeon can work on the muscles and tissue, securing the lifted brow into place.
There are a number of factors that go into determining which eyebrow lift surgery is most suited to you.
Skin type and hairline, for example, both play large parts in the decision.
